How to check if your GPU is mining

A window saying “mining” is a start request. Confirm that the miner is running and the pool is accepting its work.

1. Let preparation finish

Extract the complete setup ZIP and miner folder. In the setup wizard, select the actual miner executable, such as rigel.exe, lolMiner.exe or VerthashMiner.exe, rather than the ZIP or an example batch file. Keep the files beside that executable. Some coins need a dataset or DAG to be prepared before useful work begins.

2. Check the dashboard and miner output

After selecting Start, keep the dashboard open. Watch for the selected GPU, the intended coin, a pool connection and accepted work. If it returns to the setup screen, open miner-output.txt and read the actual error. Repeatedly pressing Start cannot repair a missing executable, unsupported GPU build or blocked download.

3. Check pool-confirmed work

Use your saved rig file in Rewards and payments to view your account. Keep this file private: it contains access credentials. Pool-confirmed accepted work is stronger evidence than a miner’s reported hashrate or GPU utilization alone. If the miner reports shares but the pool does not show verified work, check the current connection, credentials and selected coin.

4. Separate work from rewards

Accepted shares do not guarantee a block or create a withdrawable balance immediately. The native network must recognize a block, the reward must mature, and your balance must reach the payout minimum. Read how solo and pooled rewards differ.

If mining starts and then stops

When fewer than three independent accounts are active, solo assignment is expected. That threshold alone should not terminate a compatible, correctly configured miner.
